My payment failed but the amount was debited

Usually auto-reverses within 2–7 working days. If not, we'll help you raise a chargeback.

This is the most common payment issue and it's almost always resolved automatically — but the wait can be stressful.

What happened: the bank or UPI app debited your account but the confirmation message back to the payment gateway didn't reach us in time. The gateway then marked the payment as failed.

What happens next: the bank's reconciliation system identifies the failed transaction and auto-reverses it. This typically completes within 2 working days for UPI and 5–7 working days for cards and net banking.

What to do:

  1. Wait at least 24 hours before raising it. The vast majority of cases resolve on their own in this window.
  2. If the amount isn't back after 48 hours, write to info@paylaprealestate.com with your transaction reference (visible in your UPI app or bank statement).
  3. If it's still missing after 7 working days, we'll help you formally raise a chargeback with your bank.

Do not retry the payment immediately — there's a small risk you'll end up with two debits, which is a longer reconciliation problem.
