My KYC is stuck — what now?

Usually a name mismatch between Aadhaar and PAN. The fix is to align the spellings.

By far the most common reason KYC stalls is a small spelling mismatch between the name on Aadhaar and the name on PAN. Even a missing middle name or an extra space can cause a hard reject from the NSDL match.

Other reasons:

  • Aadhaar XML from DigiLocker failed to download. Usually a one-time UIDAI issue — retry after an hour.
  • PAN entered with a digit transposed. Triple-check, especially if you copy-pasted from a chat.
  • Name change after marriage or for any other reason that's reflected on one document but not the other.
